Art Circle

Art Circle is an initiative that creates opportunities for artists with or without disability to work together, providing an inclusive network for expression through diverse art practices.

We believe that through the arts every individual is empowered to express their voice in the wider community and shape their place in society. For practising artists, Art Circle also provides opportunities to display work publicly, helping to build greater inclusion.

Through skill based training, access to high quality art materials and professional tuition, artists have the opportunity to develop their skills and become independent in their artistic practice.

Art Circle workshops and various projects are facilitated by myself and a small team of facilitators who are also practicing contemporary artists. Melanie Cass is the founder and manager of Art Circle.

15 locations/15 minutes/15 days Performance Participation

The artists from Art Circle were invited to participate in a performance piece at Federation Square - The '15 locations/15 minutes/15 days' project by artist Geoff Robinson who won the Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture.  15 coloured posts were situated in different locations in Federation Square and once a day, on the hour, 15 participants would strike a hand bell at a post for 15 minutes.
