Temenos Booth

Four installations, three performances - two artists responded to the liminal, ‘in-between’ nature of Glimpse Art Space. A narrow opening sitting between two shops, a gallery space or an architectural leftover?

Carl Jung described physical liminal spaces as ‘temenos’ - a vessel, or magic circle where transformation takes place, while also signifying the inner space, deep within us, where our own personal transformation occurs.

In this spirit, Temenos-Booth, re – imagined the Glimpse space as a potential porthole to elsewhere - a container connecting to other worlds, states and senses.  As a shifting inner and outer space in flux - objects, sounds, gestures and environments were playfully re-contextualised, sitting between the known and unknown.

Temenos Booth was a collaboration with Maya Sollier and Roy Esther Ether.
